It’s About to Get Cold

2014-11-09-17.00.06

With the impending “Artic Blast” heading towards Kansas City, on Sunday I went for a nice cruise to see if I could find any sweet spots to shoot bikes. I stopped at my usual spot first, the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, and took a few shots of my Super Pista, then proceeded more into midtown, where I found a parking garage. The top level was completely empty, so I set up shop and shot a few more photos of my bike. The light was getting low, so I didn’t get as many shots of the bike as I was hoping. Hopefully it warms back up a bit, so I can spend a few hours at the garage.

#FixedKC Stop Frame

I put together a short stop frame video of a ride through Kansas City, MO. My favorite part of the ride, was hitting downtown. When I first started riding fixed five years ago, I learned in the heart of the city, in traffic, and in parking garages. It brought back a lot of fun memories and also reminded me how far I’ve come since.

New Bike Weekend

BianchiI finally finished my Bianchi Super Pista build. This bike has been a dream of mine since I started riding fixed five years ago and I couldn’t be more proud of the way “B” turned out. I finished her up Saturday morning and immediately went for a ride, well, after it stopped raining. And I’ve been glued to the saddle since. If you want to know build stats, check HERE!

It’s not a Hobby, It’s a Passion

bianchi

I started riding fixed five years ago. My first build was a conversion from an old road bike a friend gave me. About a year and a half ago I picked up a State Bicycle, and started commuting to work and riding on a daily basis. So far this year, I’ve started Cyclops Fixed, launched a merch store, and bought a Bianchi Super Pista. Five years ago I never thought any of this would happen.

Cycling has become my new love. It’s more than a hobby, it’s a passion. It pushes me, motivates me, and pisses me off, all at the same time. This hasn’t happened since I played baseball. And I can’t think of anything else I would rather have this much passion for. To the people I’ve met, learned things from, and have helped me get to where I am today, I can’t thank you enough for everything. And to my friends and family who have listened to me talk about all this stuff, even if you don’t understand what I’m saying half the time, I love you guys and thank you for all the support.

I’m looking forward to see where all of this takes me. I can’t wait to meet new people and share my passion for riding with whoever will listen. Just, to let you know, this blog has been a huge step for me. I’m a very introverted person. I listen more than I talk. And it has to be the right moment or topic for me to say something. But’t I’m working on that. I ‘m getting better about it. I will get better about it.

Enough with this post. Let’s go ride bikes and have a few beers.
