Tropicat | May 2015 Team Bike Nerds

Check out this awesome edit from Bike Nerds.

“On Saturday, May 9, 2015, Team Bike Nerds riders Eric Zugor and Fabian Garcia, two of Miami’s fastest pair of legs, sped brakeless through the streets of Miami Beach in search of yet another alley cat podium. This video exemplifies their fearless and relentless pursuit of perfection on two wheels. Though it seems like madness, mind you, these are very experienced and technical riders. This sort of riding is NOT for amateurs nor the faint of heart. Keep an eye out for more from these guys. They do more than just alley cats!”

Up Up Up | And Awesome

“Hill climbing is a niche within a niche. It was one of the original tests of a cyclists skill, the proving ground before time-trials and road races. Now somewhat forgotten, a hardcore band of thin-limbed riders spend their Autumn sacrificing beer and cake for a shot at amateur bike racing glory.”

SVENNESS 3.4

“For SVENNESS episode 3.4 we travel to the Koppenberg Cross in Oudenaarde, Belgium. The course uses the same cobbled climb, the Koppenberg, that features in the Tour of Flanders, but here it is more of a respite than a launching pad. The Koppenberg Cross is all about climbing and descending and those who excel at those skills will have the advantage. We concentrate on cornering on descents, riding mud, race strategy and a controversial finish.”

I’m Obsessed with the SVENNESS videos

“For episode 3.3 we take a trip to Valkenburg, Netherlands, for the first round of the UCI World Cup. The Valkenburg course is a tough one. Lots of elevation changes, difficult off-camber sections, a tough descent and a killer run-up. We spend a lot of time on the off-camber inspecting lines and technique. We also take a look at the tricky descent and a great race for the podium. The winner is decided pretty early in this one, so the drama comes from the race for second place. Finally, we spend some time tracking Jeremy Powers who started in the pack but methodically worked his way up to a great finishing spot.”

Onboard Neil Bezdek – Red Hook Criterium Brooklyn No.7

Awesome!!

“Neil Bezdek the defending series champion is the most successful rider in the history of the Red Hook Criterium. In ten starts he has finished on the podium eight times with four victories. Each win has come on a different course ranging from the cobbled city streets of Red Hook to the technical Navy Yard circuit. As a former bike messenger and domestic road pro Bezdek is arguably the best in the world at this discipline.

Even more important results has been Neil’s positive influence on the series. His unofficial consultant role has resulted in countless changes to course design, rule development, and safety improvements. While other champions have moved on to higher level cycling careers Bezdek has remained a contender and promoter of the RHC.

This footage is a textbook display on how a champion races. Bezdek rode near the front the entire race and when his teammate Alessandro Bruzza launches the winning move he immediately begins protecting his advantage. While subtly disrupting the chase Bezdek positions himself to win the field sprint.”
