I took a weekend trip to St. Louis. When I travel, I’m not really into all of the touristy stuff, and don’t like crowded areas, long lines, and other tourists. I want to meet the people, see why they love their city, and experience what it’s like to be part of that city. Friday night was spent in Soulard and Cherokee Street, hitting up a few bars and restaurants like, MELT, the Fortune Teller Bar, and Llywelyns Pub.
Saturday was all about bikes and shooting my Atir Cycles glow bike, or so I thought. We rode most of the day, stopping at various places around the city. Then ended up at Cherokee Street Bike Shop a few hours into the ride. Not because of bike problems, but, to check out a bike in the window. We found out, they are closing up shop at the end of the month to start a mobile bike repair service. Also, while in the shop, my friend bought a new bike. After the new bike purchase, we celebrated with waffles, beer, and water at the MELT. I took one last photo and that was it. I had left my camera on after shoot my bike at Budweiser. With no back up batteries, on me, all I had was my phone, but it was at 12%. We rode around for a few more hours, then headed back.
I have to say I fell in love with St. Louis. I loved the bike culture, and everything my friends were able to show me in the short time I was there. I missed the FBC on Saturday and wanted to check out Handlebar, but that will have to wait till next time. Check out the few photos I took while out below. Also, I’m in the market for a new DSLR, so if you have one on the cheap, contact me.
Aimee’s new State Bike. It’s pretty sweet.
